January is fadeing

I had better write something more on this blog. I really don't know how some of these people do this every day. We are retired and still don't have enough time to do all I would like in a day. Of course trying to keep this computer working is time consuming enough. In the last few days I have formated the hard drive twice and reloaded most things twice. It did go off again today twice. I sure hope that was just shutting down from not being used, but I have the settings to not do that.????
I have been working on the Susan shawl quite a bit. The more I knit, the longer it takes cause the rows keep getting longer. I was knitting in the sun yesterday and found out why I bought this fiber. The sun shows up all the different colors in the yarn. As I knit, I realize the yarn is not as even as I thought it was while I was spinning it. Oh well, it still is passable.

Happy New Year

I bet that is the title of most posts today. I am not very original. Was finally able to add a picture of the Branching Out scarf yesterday. Course I didn't have time to add a post. Then today was able to get the pictue onto my Ravelry page. Between the 2, they could take up a lot of time that could have been spinning time.

Christmas was today and tomorrow

Like many families, we have to divy up Christmas. Today was our family Christmas. Our 3 sons, our wonderful daughters-in-law and 8 of our grandkids. The oldest one cant get away from work in Columbus untill this afternoon. Tomorrow we will go to all three kids homes and see what they all got for Christmas. Lots of fun and eating. We got lots of family pictures today. We celabrated our 50th wedding anniv. this summer and the kids got pictures reprinted and enlarged from that. Also we have 2 graduating seniors this year and so got senior pictures. Howard go a metal detector. That should be a lot of fun. I hope I have a few minutes( Wish hours) to spin. Must quit this and go get some time in.

This is hard to keep up.

I have hard enough time keeping up my house work because I want to be spinning or knitting or checking on lists on the computer, but now I need to write this blog also. Wooo! I will have to be more organized. I don't think after all these years that is going to happen. Oh well first things first. I have been spinning away on the merino/silk stuff from "The Fold". I have a pound and have about 75% of it spun. Need it all plyed and ready to knit the Mariais shawl from the Stahman's book before we leave for FL in January.
All the Christmas presents are wrapped and under the Christmas tree. We are really ahead in that this year. All the kids and Grandkids except one will be here Christmas eve day for brunch and gift opening. 3 sons with wives and a total of 9 grandkids. Oldest grandson, Neil has to work till that night in Columbus, so we will take his gifts down on Christmas day.
Back to spinning now.

Jet Lag

Back from Las Vegas and fighting jetlag. Stayed up to late in the Casino and now I am paying for it by really being jetlaged. Was able to knit quite a bit on the Falling Leaves shawl on the plane. The movie was a Disney Christmas one and not to interesting. Found a lady on SpinTec who lives real close to us in Lakeland. It will be wonderful to have another spinner near by. I think she is just learning to spin but that is fine with me as I seem to be a teacher by nature.
